WEST CHICAGO – In an effort to remove any confusion and help community members enroll in Medicaid, State Senator Karina Villa and State Representative Maura Hirschauer are partnering with La Federación de Clubes Michoacanos en Illinois and Casa Michoacán to host a Medicaid Enrollment Workshop.
“Health care access is absolutely vital,” said Villa (D-West Chicago). “Unfortunately, getting enrolled for coverage can be a daunting task, especially for our neighbors who may not be familiar with the system or have limited English proficiency. I encourage anyone who may feel overwhelmed by the process to come to our enrollment workshop and make sure they have the coverage they need.”
The workshop will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at 900 E. Roosevelt Rd. in West Chicago, and both English- and Spanish-speaking community members are welcome to come and learn more about the recent expansion in health care coverage for immigrant adults age 42 and older.
Community members wishing to attend are encouraged to make an appointment ahead of the event by calling Casa Michoachan at 630-520-3482. Any questions can be directed to Villa’s office in English at 630-326-9319 or in Spanish at 630-326-9319.
