Villa Celebrates West Chicago’s Fremont Water Tower Rehabilitation Project with Union Painters

State Senator Karina Villa joined union painters to celebrate the completion of the West Chicago’s Fremont Water Tower Rehabilitation Project.

Villa secured $750,000 in funding during Fiscal Year 24 to support the restoration of the water tower as capital project for the 25th Senate District. After years of being overdue for a paint, the job was completed in August along with other necessary safety upgrades, including sandblasting, new interior coatings, landscaping improvements and updated safety systems including new railings, ladders and fall protection.

The Fremont Street Water Tower is the City’s oldest water tower, constructed in 1952. It has a storage capacity of 250,000 gallons and was last painted in 1990.
