Villa announces investment for Bartlett Park District

SPRINGFIELD – Thanks to strong support from State Senator Karina Villa, the Bartlett Park District is set to receive nearly $293,000 from the Open Space Land Acquisition and Development grant for improvements to Tallgrass Park.

“This investment into the Bartlett community will help create the outdoor spaces our children and families deserve,” said Villa (D-West Chicago). “Investing in our recreation areas helps cultivate resilient communities, supporting our neighbors’ health and wellness.”

OSLAD is a cost-sharing program between state and local governments that helps communities fund land acquisition and development for parks and outdoor recreation projects. It’s become one of the most popular grant programs in Illinois. Since its establishment, OSLAD has awarded $675 million for park projects throughout Illinois.

The Bartlett Park District will receive $292,800 to support plans for updated amenities and improvements to Tallgrass Park.

“These improvements will ensure that Tallgrass Park remains accessible, safe and welcoming for years to come,” said Villa. “Programs like OSLAD are vital in ensuring our communities receive critical investments that enhance our quality of life and strengthen community ties.”
