A huge aspect of being a Senator is connecting with the community. When I was elected to the state legislature in 2018, I made a conscious decision to integrate advisory committees within my office. These advisory committees give me the chance to connect with constituents to hear their thoughts and concerns and be an advocate for solutions to local problems. Today, we have four developed advisory committees, Education, Environment, Mental Health, and Seniors, all with members who either have a background in the subject or a passion for public policy and community involvement.
